A growing divide

A growing divide

Back in the day, when search engines started becoming popular, whenever someone was asking a dumb question they were too bored to search for, we might have responded: “Google it”.

If you have an average mastery of context engineering and interrogative skills, you can make a coding agent spit the truth behind any production incident in minutes (if you’re above average, then you have a team-explainable version of truth delivered in your inbox, along with the proposed solution/PR, before your morning coffee).

In the complex organizations that we work through, it’s not enough for you to be in the know; you have to bring others to the same page. And if they cannot operate at the same speed — aka they still work like it’s 2025 — good luck staying sane while trying to get them up to speed.

There’s a growing divide between people, teams and orgs that “Google it” and those who don’t, and my feeling is that those who “Google” will congregate instinctively.
